ThreeAndTwo

Engineer and Co-Founder. Focused on AI autonomy and safety.

Thoughts in progress. Notes along the way.

Now

Building AI products focused on autonomy and safety. The goal is to help agents work independently, with well-defined permissions, safeguards, and human oversight.

Work

Eleven years in software engineering. I choose tools to fit the problem and turn “this should work” into “it’s running in production.”

Background

Experience in game development and financial software, including systems for asset management, on-chain trading, and quantitative trading. Previously at Coinsummer and J17.

My work spans application development, infrastructure, and operations. I take systems from initial design into production and stay involved after launch. That means thinking about how people use the software, how it behaves under real workloads, and what it takes to maintain it over time. Designing, shipping, and operating a system are all part of the job.

I co-founded AlphaLabs, where we built a successful business around software for on-chain perpetuals trading. Our products supported automated trade execution across multiple trading platforms, along with monitoring and alerts. Building the business involved engineering and product decisions in equal measure: understanding users’ workflows, deciding what to automate, and making the software reliable and straightforward to use.

I’m now building AI products, with a focus on agent autonomy and safety. I want agents to handle more work independently, with appropriate controls over their actions. That includes defining what an agent is authorized to do, which tools and resources it can access, and when it needs to stop and ask for human approval. The goal is to make it easier for people to delegate meaningful work to AI while retaining control over important decisions.

I write here about software engineering, product development, and building companies. Some posts draw on projects I’ve shipped; others explore questions I’m still working through. Writing helps me examine my decisions, share what I’ve learned, and revisit assumptions as new information comes in. If you’d like to compare notes or discuss a project, feel free to email me.

I’ve taken on a range of responsibilities over the years. Production has never cared much about my job description.
